Keel Hunt's New Book About the Day Tennessee Democrats Ousted One of Their Own is Now Available at BookManBookWoman!

ON SALE NOW! SIGNED FIRST EDITIONS of “Coup: The Day the Democrats Ousted Their Governor, Put Republican Lamar Alexander in Office Early, and Stopped a Pardon Scandal,” by Keel Hunt.

"Coup," a compelling and true suspense story, is aptly recounted by Hunt, including behind-the-scenes accounts of the courage of public officials who acted in time.

Tennesseans will remember the unprecedented late-night ouster of their governor to stop the steady flow of prisoners who were being pardoned in the last days of Govenor Ray Blanton's administration.

However, you don't have to be a Tennessean to enjoy this true story of suspense, power and political intrigue.

In his early career, author Keel Hunt was a reporter, editorial writer, Washington correspondent, and city editor for the Tennessean. He left the newspaper to join Lamar Alexander's successful campaign for governor of Tennessee. Following the 1978 election, Hunt was appointed as special assistant to the governor, serving as a speechwriter and coordinator of the governor's policy group. Since 1986, Hunt has been a speechwriter and public affairs consultant.
