HUME FOGG MAGNET HIGH SCHOOL
Outside Reading - Advanced Placement English

Select a thematic group from the following list that interests you. Then select six works listed under that theme for your outside reading for the year. If you are wise, you will do most of your reading during the summer. Previous AP students have stated that reading all the novels and writing all the journals over the summer helped tremendously, because the reading load for the class is so heavy. (Don't forget, you=ll be busy preparing college applications and essays, too!) You can review novels and journals right before the book conferences each six weeks. Think of this as your summer reading list.

NOTE: You are REQUIRED to have the FIRST TWO NOVELS read and journals written from your chosen thematic list. You will be tested over the novels and you will participate in individual and group conferences on these books.
